[English News] Lake Forms in Earth's Hottest Place

The hottest place on Earth is the Lut Desert in Iran. 

지구에서 가장 뜨거운 곳은 이란의 루트 사막이다. 

The landscape is sandy, and temperatures reach 72 degrees Celsius. 

그 광경은 모래로 뒤덮여 있고, 기온은 72도에 이른다. 

On the whole, water is extremely scarce there. 

전체적으로 그곳에서 물은 매우 부족하다.

Now, however, the Lut Desert features a new saltwater lake. 

하지만 이제 루트 사막은 새로운 소금물 호수가 특징을 이루고 있다. 

Surprisingly, this body of water is not manmade. 

놀랍게도 물줄기는 사람이 만든 것이 아니다.

A saltwater river runs through the desert, and the banks of the river burst in late 2018. 

소금물 강은 그 사막을 가로질러 흐른다. 그리고 그 강의 둑은 2018년 말에 터졌다. 

Then, the river water flowed into a deep reservoir and formed the lake. 

이후, 그 강물은 깊은 저수지로 흘러 들어갔고, 호수를 이루었다.

Currently, the lake is so large that it has waves. It has attracted migratory birds and other animals, as well as tourists.

현재 그 호수는 너무 커서 파도가 있다. 그것은 관광객들뿐 아니라 철새와 다른 동물들을 끌어 모았다.

Scientists are not sure what will happen to the desert lake. 

과학자들은 그 사막의 호수에 어떤 일이 일어날지 확신하지 못한다. 

It could dry up in the desert heat, or expand if enough rain falls during the rainy season. 

그것은 사막의 열기로 말라 버릴 수도 있고, 아니면 우기에 충분한 비가 내린다면 넓어질 수도 있다. 

In other words, Mother Nature will decide the fate of this majestic lake.

다시 말하면, 대자연이 이 장엄한 호수의 운명을 결정할 것이다.
