Parasitic Plants

Parasitic Plants are plants that survive at the expense of other plants instead of producing their own nutrients using the sun's energy.

Since they do not need sunlight for their survival, they can usually be found in shady areas rather than areas with direct sunlight.

In order to access the food generated by other plants, parasitic plants attach themselves to the host plants by means of haustoria, specialized organs to penetrate the tissues of the host plant and absorb the nutrients that they need to survive. 

기생 식물

기생식물은 태양 에너지를 이용해 자신 스스로의 영양분을 만들어내는 대신, 다른 식물을 희생하여 생존하는 식물이다. 

기생식물은 생존을 위해 햇빛이 필요치 않으므로,  대게 직사광선이 비치는 곳보다는 그늘진 곳에서 발견될 수 있다. 

기생식물은 다른 식물들이 생성한 영양분을 이용하기 위해, 숙주 식물의 세포에 침투하기 위해 특화된 기관인 흡기를 이용하여 숙주생물에 부착하여, 생존하기 위해 그 영양분을 흡수한다.
