I've been listening to a lot of music lately. What kind of music do you like?

Mostly, I'm into rock but if the mood strikes me, I can listen to classical, jazz, blues or almost anything. Even hip hop is good to listen to sometimes. It all depends on my mood and who I'm with and where I am. Music goes well with different people and places.
주로 락 음악을 좋아하지만 분위기를 타면 클래식, 재즈, 블루스 등 다양한 음악을 듣기도 해. 심지어 힙합도 가끔 듣기 좋을 때가 있어. 다 내 기분이 어떤지, 누구와 있는지, 어디에 있는지에 달려있지. 사람이나 장소에 따라 어울리는 음악이 다르거든.

Well, for example, when I'm at a bar or pub, I prefer listening to rock music, but if I'm at a nice restaurant, I like listening to something a little more upbeat, like jazz. However, if I go out with my girlfriend to a concert, we like to listen to classical music.
그러니까, 예를 들면, 바나 호프집에 있을 때는 락 음악 듣는 게 좋지만, 근사한 식당에 있으면, 재즈 같은 좀 더 경쾌한 음악을 듣는 게 좋아. 하지만, 여자친구와 콘서트에 갈 때는 클래식 음악을 즐겨 듣지.

When I'm feeling sad, I definitely like to listen to the blues. A good blues singer can really move me and make me feel the sorrow and pain of life that can be expressed through music. It's my dream to go to a good blues bar in New Orleans someday.
슬플 때는 확실히 블루스 음악이 좋아. 훌륭한 블루스 가수는 나를 감동시키고, 음악으로 표현되는 삶의 슬픔과 고통을 느낄 수 있게 해줘. 언젠가 뉴올리언스에 있는 멋진 블루스 바에 가는 게 내 꿈이야.

You mentioned hip hop. When do you listen to that?
너 힙합도 얘기했었지. 언제 힙합을 들어?

One of my friends is a clubber. He really likes going to the clubs and dancing all night to loud hip hop music. So when I go out with him, I listen to hip hop. That can be pretty fun, but it's not always my cup of tea.
내 친구 중 하나가 클럽 가는 것을 좋아해서 클럽에 가서 시끄러운 힙합 음악에 맞춰 밤새 춤추는 것을 정말 좋아해. 그래서 그 친구와 놀 때 힙합을 들어. 꽤 신나긴 하지만 항상 내 취향에 맞는 건 아니야.
