1. Catch a cold 감기에 걸리다
예문)
If you go out in this rain, you will surely catch a cold.
이 비에 나간다면, 너 틀림없이 감기에 걸릴거야.
How did she ever catch a cold in such warm weather?
그녀는 어쩌다가 이렇게 따뜻한 날씨에 감기에 걸린거니?
2. Get over 회복하다, 극복하다
예문)
It took me over a month to get over my cold, but I’m finally well now.
내가 감기 나는 데에 한달 이상 걸렸어. 하지만 지금은 마침내 다 나았어.
It seems that Jason will never get over the death of his wife.
제이슨은 자기 부인의 죽음을 결코 극복하지 못할 거 같아.
3. Make up one’s mind 결심하다, 결정하다
예문)
Sally is considering several colleges to attend, but she hasn’t made up her mind yet.
샐리는 진학할 몇몇 대학을 고려하고 있지만, 아직 결정을 못했다.
When are you doing to make up your mind about your vacation plans?
넌 언제 휴가 계획을 정할 예정이니?
4. Change one’s mind 결정이나 의견을 바꾸다
예문)
We have changed our minds and are going to Canada instead of California this summer.
우리는 결정을 바꿔 이번 여름에 캘리포니아 대신에 캐나다로 가려고 한다.
Tim has changed his mind several times about buying a new car.
팀은 새차를 사는 데 여러 번 결정을 바꿨다.
5. Get back 돌아오다.
예문)
Paul got back from his business trip to Chicago this morning.
폴은 오늘 아침 시카고 출장에서 돌아왔다.
Could you get the children back home by five o’clock?
애들 5시까지 집으로 데려나 줄 수 있니?
